Ivory Pearl on the old Joanna

Chloe Coggin, a talented 16 year old ivory pearl (Cockney rhyming slang for girl) plays the old Joanna, painted in Cockney rhyming slang phrases and images for the British Library. Making her debut Chloe, will play a mixture of pop ranging from A Thousand Miles to Let it Be. Piano calligraphy by John Bull, and photographic images by Anne Clements. So comb yer barnet, come on down and ‘ave a ding dong! 15-20 minute session

Roger Limb, arranger, pianist and former BBC composer, who has written at least 200 songs for kids programmes and scores for shows such as Dr Who will be playing jazz classics, including "Summer Time" and "Night and Day".

Pearly Kings & Queens have a sing song round the old Joanna
Decked out in their shiniest pearl buttons, the Pearlies will sing a 20 minute set of London songs around the Cockney themed Joanna, including “Barrow Boy”. So after you’ve listened to the Ivory Pearl, Chloe Coggin, stay while the Pearlies pour out their jam tarts! Then have a cup of Rosie Lee on the Piazza. Donations will go to one of their charities.

“Singing Brazil “ traces the history of Brazilian music from 1889 to the present day. The songs performed — composed by Chiquinha Gonzaga, Ernesto Narareth, Villa-Lobos, Pixinguinha, Luiz Gonzaga, Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, João Donato, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Lenine and many others — were especially selected to represent this journey through Brazil’s great musical heritage.
Workshop sing along with Brazilian tunes and rhythms .
