First we do a few round of chopsticks to warm up and then Asuko takes central stage to play some pieces she learnt when she was younger and I just sit in the sun and enjoy. She complains that she's not as good as she used to be but I think she's brilliant. The street pianos have really made us smile and Asuko is thinking of buying a piano now so that she can play again. Brilliant - I hope they come back next year - we miss them already! <!-- image_comment_id: 1102 --> What a great time me and Asuko (picture) have had over the past week or so playing the pianos at Leadenhall, Royal Exchange and today Bow Churchyard (great piano!). Who I subsequently ran into a LOT. When I commented on something not functioning (probably the pedal) he mentioned that he could fix it and had his kit with him. Does anyone know who he is? I asked him if he was the guy who was running around fixing and tuning the pianos and he replied in affirmative, but I never actually saw him servicing any of them... <!-- image_comment_id: 1093 --> Day 5, Piano #10

To say it made my day is an understatement - it made my week. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE PIANOS! One of the best ideas in the history of popular culture EVER! PLEASE make it a regular annual thing! London benefits wonderfully from it! My one-handed playing has become more fluent during the week, and I have started playing two notes at once when the music has them ... The sustain pedal is broken unfortuantely. PS. Those pictures by Sarah McGinty below are actually Patternoster Square. Tried this piano today. The sustain pedal is broken unfortuantely.

There were volunteer page turners, a woman who powered by saying "Thank you," and a team of falconers on my elbow whose three enormous birds (the one that strafed me had bells on) doing loop-de-loops through the Square. <!-- image_comment_id: 1080 --> How magical was this?
